Extra National Style
The workshop deals with the creation of a context between two groups of people, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Qatar and the Dirty Art Department (DAD). Students of both VCU and DAD work together to create the context of programme and space for the Extra National Style parliament. We propose a programme that will stimulate reflection, conversations and actions towards the definition of what could be an Extra National Style Celebration Day.
Suggestions for Extra National Day Celebration
What is the ritual? What is the parade, dance and song? What do we celebrate? What are the signs, symbols, flags, and ways and places of expression: sports, cooking, language, music and so on?
