Justin McGuirk is a writer, critic and curator based in London.
He is the design columnist of the Guardian newspaper and director of Strelka Press, the publishing arm of the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design in Moscow.
The former editor of Icon, the international architecture and design magazine, he is an award-winning journalist and editor.
In 2012 he was awarded the Golden Lion for curating the best exhibition at the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
He is currently working on a book about activist architecture and social housing in Latin America.
