If We Could Communicate We Wouldn’t Have To

A short, minimalist, three-act play, using the frame of theatre to produce a cathartic performative experience. Inspired by Augusto Boal’s method for theatrical therapy, the work uses materials directly culled from participant’s lives and acts them out as art. The process develops quickly beginning with the workshoping of simple writings, leading into brief discussion and editing, followed by brisk rehearsal and finally performed openly.
