    Architect, essayist and activist. At the beginning of the 80’s, Cuyvers finished his studies at the Hoger Architectuurinstituut in Gand. He worked in the States at Preston Phillips and Venturi, Rauch & Scott Brown (famous authors of Learning from Las Vegas, a key book of post-modernism) and later at Paul Robbrecht et Hilde Daem. En 1984, he opened his own studio in Gand and alternated projects and researches with a radical approach in particular to public spaces. En 1995, he had a first personal exhibition at deSingel. He taught in Tilburg, Eindhoven and Sint-Lucas in Gand. En 2000, he came to live in Jura (France) and is advisor-researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academy de Maastricht. He wrote different radical books concerning public spaces.
