    13.3 – 25.4.2018

with Lovis Caputo, Erasmus Scherjon, Yiannis Mouravas, Emanuele Braga and Jerszy Seymour and the
    entire DAD Team!

Following on from the social sculpture of the first ‘Wandering School’ in Milan with the Macao Collective, ‘The Wandering School Part 2: Revolution or Bust!’ proposes itself as an actual trip through parts of Greece as the place of the origin of western knowledge and as the stage where the contemporary drama of the fight against european and global neoliberal hegemony is played out.

The goal is, if not the actual revolution, the creation of contemporary rituals for the creation of the new world, and in collaboration with students from the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb), to film the whole journey and the success or failure of its goals with a subsequent presentation of the finalised film in multiple locations including Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin and Athens.

‘The Wandering School Part 2: Revolution or Bust!’ is a project by the Dirty Art Department co-produced with Macao and in collaboration with the Deutsche Film und Fernsehen Akademie Berlin and an invitation to the students of the Athens School of Fine Art to collaborate and participate.

Members and friends of the Dirty Art Department leave Amsterdam by plane to Bari, and travelling in descending orders of technology, by boat from Bari to Patras, and by public transport from Patras to Delphi. On arriving in Delphi
they meet with Franco ‘Bifo’ Berardi who is the Oracle and explains to them the revolution according to him and that they should seek the ‘lights’ in the dark city, Athens, as the stage where the contemporary battle for a free and egalitarian civilisation is being played out.

The journey then proceeds by foot from Delphi to Athens through the wilderness as a moment for reflection and as a connection to primordial being. On arrival in Athens they set up camp in an any place no place, and consider themselves again as a living social sculpture.

Athens they seek out the lights, which consist of a series of planned and unplanned happenings, lectures, situations and actions that serve as clues to the construction of the new world, A dinner for the celebration of Athena and Dionysus as Transgender, the discovery of the Magic School, musings on paradise in Naxos, a Psychedelic happening on the rocks, and a rave for a new world property rights…

Between the impossible task of the Revolution and encountering the lights, the members and friends of the Dirty Art Department will decide individually and collectively how to proceed and what action to take.
