Michele Rizzo

Michele Rizzo graduated in 2011 at the SNDO (School for new Dance Development, Amsterdam), where he is now a guest teacher in choreography and movement research, and in 2015 at the Sandberg Institute of Amsterdam, in the Dirty Art Department master program. In 2013 he created the work M, which premiered in Something Raw festival in Amsterdam, and which existed also in the form of an installation and a magazine. Later, in 2015, he created Higher, produced by Frascati theatre in collaboration with ICK, a project inspired by the club culture for which he collaborated with music producer Lorenzo Senni. Taking as well the shape of a workshop, the Higher project has been widely shown through out Europe during the past two years (Urb Helsinki, Rencontre internationals de dans de Seine Saint Denis Paris, La Briqueterie Paris, Santarcangelo festival, Short theater Rome, DDD Porto, de Warned Turnhout, Triennale at CRT Milan, and as workshop in Impulstanz Vienna). His last work Spacewalk produced by Frascati theatre and AFK, and coproduced by Dansmakers Amsterdam, Ick Amsterdam and Campo (Be) deals still with notion of clubbing and trance in conjunction with the realm of virtual space and virtual architecture.
