During the art Rotterdam, with the exhibition Tec Art (organised by PlanetArt), i stumbeled over the emptyness of the Rijnhaven in front of the exhibitionspace. A total desolated harbour surrounded by old warehouses and new skyscrapers.
This void screamed to be filled and the best way i thought to do this was the use of a truck-horn.
This idea evolved in a day to a boat expedition to the middle of the watersquare to plant a tree on a home-made floating island.
This island would grow out in the next years making it my own island in the harbour of Rotterdam.
Together with Karavana i made the boat and made it possible that this pop-up performance could take place.
